Hayley Winter is a Yoga Sports Scientist and creator of the Yoga Sports Coach™ online training courses. For the past 30 years Hayley has taught yoga, worked as an elite movement consultant, yoga educator, university lecturer and lectured internationally. She is the CEO and Founding Director of The Institute of Yoga Sports Science® (YSS) and the leading expert in her field. She has a masters degree in sports and exercise biomechanics, and for the last 20 years has applied sports-specific yoga techniques to athletes from the playground to the podium. She has worked with the UK’s Football Association and the British Olympic Association in an advisory capacity.

In 2009, Hayley was one of the early pioneers of online yoga education and created an online syllabus that delivered sports-specific yoga course to students around the world. To date YSS has trained hundreds of students who have applied their knowledge to support athletes of all ages and abilities. In 2010, Hayley and Dr. Maggie Bunting, Head of YSS Research, developed a unique research tool for student Yoga Sports Coaches to monitor their impact on athletic performance. During their studies students engage with their tutors and peers online and are required to undertake a 10-week case study intervention applying their knowledge to an athlete in an athletic environment. The research tool enables students to easily collect data in the field, interpret the metrics gathered from analysis, observation, and interviews. To date The Institute of Yoga Sports Science has one of the largest research databases on the efficacy of yoga in sport. Hayley received her teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga, and she is currently spearheading an online yoga initiative with the British Wheel of Yoga to help support the accessibility of yoga education to its members. She studied her Masters at Roehamption University, London and lives in New York.
