Jacci Gruninger, E-RYT 500, RPYT, YACEP, C-IAYT, MHS is a Santa Fe based yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and educator. Jacci feels she has been on a journey of awareness and awakening her whole life, and states that she was practicing “yoga” before she ever practiced yoga. This way of being alive and present for every experience is what calls to her most deeply and infuses her teaching. She uses the practice of yoga to see how her habits restrict, distract and cause suffering. Using observation and witnessing, a skill she learned from her teachers Yoganand Michael Carroll and Sudhir Jonathon Foust, she is better able to see her habits and open her life to finding more freedom and joy. As a teacher, Jacci invites her students to go inside themselves and feel rather than focusing on what the pose looks like. She uses the techniques of inquisition and witnessing to encourage and enable students to be present in their lives. Jacci holds a Master’s degree in Health Science from George Washington University and has completed over 1500 hours of training in a wide variety of yoga disciplines. She completed her 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher trainings at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and then completed a second 500 hour certification in yoga therapy. She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT), as well as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist. Jacci is the Executive Director of the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts as well as Director of their 200-hour, Basic Prenatal, Restorative Yoga, and Gentle Yoga Teacher Trainings. She lives in Santa Fe with her son, Justin, and their dog Ash.
